An icon deserves to be celebrated. Released to mark the 50th anniversary of the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, we delivered the V12 Zagato. Imagined by our world leading design team, hand built by expert craftsmen, this is one of the most exclusive cars ever produced.

Designing any Aston Martin is an incredible challenge, designing a new car in the legendary collaboration of Aston Martin and Zagato, a partnership that has created some of the greatest cars in the world, that’s a real challenge.

We took the classic design of the DB4 GT Zagato, and created a 21st century concept. Our designers went head-to-head with Zagato’s famed design team to deliver an Aston Martin Zagato fit for today. Two designs, one car – the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.

Unveiled at the 2011 Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance, the V12 Zagato was awarded the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes. Lauded by judges, clamoured for by customers, we knew this was only the start of a journey.

The Ultimate Test

No other company would even consider racing a concept car, we did, twice.

We took the same car that had won at Villa d’Este and rebuilt it to compete in the gruelling Nurburgring 24hr race just two weeks later. But why enter only one concept? We entered two. They both completed the race, 24hrs averaging over 120mph, nose to tail with some of the greatest GT cars in the world. Once again iconic design had been married with race track proven engineering.

We could have stopped there. We could have closed this chapter of the Aston Martin, Zagato relationship. Our customers wouldn’t let us. Two months after appearing at Villa d’Este the response had become overwhelming. We had to build it, the creation of a strictly limited run of V12 Zagato road-cars was announced.

The journey was complete; history had been made with the creation of a fitting tribute to the 50 years of an enduring collaboration, we had created the Aston Martin V12 Zagato.
