From Concept to Production

As the first images of the new V12 Zagato (road car) are revealed you now have the opportunity to experience the model in full 3D with our 360 degree rotation. Available in the four unique colours created for the V12 Zagato (Diavolo Red, Alloro Green, Scintilla Silver and Alba Blue) along with Carbon Black, our 360 model brings to life the design cues of a car built by skilled craftsmen to be driven and enjoyed by the world's most discerning car collectors.

The V12 Zagato is the pinnacle of the Vantage range. It is also the latest expression of a successful creative collaboration that has given rise to a series of striking GT cars over the last half-century, the original and most iconic of which being the DB4GT Zagato. Not only does this masterpiece rank amongst the most desirable, collectable and valuable cars in history, its 50th anniversary provided the inspiration for the V12 Zagato.

Introduced as a concept in May 2011 the V12 Zagato made an award winning debut after being presented with the coveted 'Concorso D'Eleganza Design Award' at Villa D'Este on the shores of Lake Como. An intensive development phase then lead to two examples of the V12 Zagato race-car succesfully finishing the gruelling Nurburgring 24hr race just one month after the car's debut - continuing the rich racing heritage of Aston Martin and proving the performance and engineering credentials of this exclusive model.

After an overwhelmingly positive response from customers, the decision was made in July 2011 to build a strictly limited run of V12 Zagatos. Since then, Aston Martin’s design team have worked to refine the sports car’s detailing and aerodynamic performance while staying faithful to the original design concept. At the same time engineers based at Gaydon have been putting prototypes through a rigorous development programme to ensure the V12 Zagato performs as well as it looks.

Every Aston Martin is a unique combination of advanced materials, technology and time-honoured craftsmanship. The V12 Zagato takes this philosophy to a level previously seen in the company’s exquisite One-77 supercar, which completes its build run this year. Built at Aston Martin’s global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, production of the V12 Zagato will be strictly limited to no more than 150 cars and is now on-sale.

  • Compelling Proportions

Like all Aston Martins the V12 Zagato is an artful composition of powerful lines and compelling proportions. Constructed from a combination of hand crafted aluminium and carbon fibre, the design of the signature 'double-bubble' roof is just one of the many features which means the creation of each example requires a total of more than 2,000 man hours.

  • A Work of Art

When viewed up close the V12 Zagato reveals sophisticated, sculptural surfaces and jewel-like details. These include a bold, imposing grille formed in unique three-dimensional composite material mesh that echoes Zagato's famous 'Z' moniker. All exposed elements of carbon-fibre, follow a similar consistency with a perfectly symmetrical weave and smooth resin finish.

  • Forward Thinking

Finished in a standalone facility the build is completed in a laboratory-like space where time is lavished on the fitment and installation of bespoke components. These include the distinctive rear window that continues the lines of the roof, and the exterior brightwork around the the windows, which has a contemporary black finish to compliment the exposed carbon fibre components.

  • Defined by Detail

Seven Bridge of Weir hides - in semi-aniline finish to offer durability while preserving the natural texture - are used to trim the interior. Hand-stitched quilting of a unique design creates a flowing pattern that evokes a dynamic sense of movement across the seats and headlining.

  • Uniquely Finished

The embroidered Zagato 'Z' on both the parcel shelf and seats adds a further flourish and offers an interior design cue that is visible from the exterior. The hard lines of the 'Z' contrast the flowing stitch lines found on the seats, door panels and headlining.

  • A True Experience

The muscular gear-knob and prominent circular gear-stick surround help to enhance the link between the dynamic styling of the interior and the musuclar V12 engine that powers the V12 Zagato - combined they provide a unique driving experience.
