In 2013, to mark the 180th anniversary of Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin’s centenary, a special event marks the partnership between these two famous companies.
To celebrate these two memorable anniversaries, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin have organised “Anniversary Follow the Drive”: a journey through the two partners’ history and heritage. Darren Turner, official works driver for Aston Martin Racing, who has competed at Le Mans and in the FIA GT WEC championship, will head the field on an amazing adventure leading from Aston Martin’s headquarters in Gaydon to the Vallée de Joux.
He will be accompanied by friends and devotees of the two brands, who will enjoy the privilege of driving our latest models and wearing the recent watches created by Jaeger-LeCoultre within the exclusive AMVOX line. After crossing the Channel, the tour will stop off in Paris in front of the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique on the Place Vendôme, the brand’s largest own-name store in the world.
The tour then really hits the road en route to the Vallée de Joux, the cradle of fine watchmaking where Jaeger-LeCoultre has been based since 1833.
The partnership between Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 2004 with the launch of the Aston Martin Jaeger-LeCoultre gentleman’s watch - the AMVOX1. The exclusive timepiece housed precision engineering in a design inspired by the past which revived a link between the two companies that goes back more than 70 years. The dashboard of the giant killing 1.5-litre Aston Martin LM from the 1930s – a regular class winner in international motorsport including Le Mans – was dominated by Jaeger instruments. Our latest joint dedication to progress is the Aston Martin Vanquish watch, the AMVOX7, which was launched in November 2012.
