Technical Specifications
• The movement is Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 988, crafted and decorated by hand. It is 7.49 mm thick, and has 323 components, 35 jewels, an 11.5 mg x cm2 variable-inertia balance oscillating at 28,000 vhp and a 48-hour power reserve.
• The tourbillon mechanism is constructed with a 4N gold-plated upper bridge and a grade 5 titanium carriage, featuring bevelled, hand-drawn and polished edges, which weighs just 280 mg.
• Twenty-eight per cent lighter than classic rotors, the patented oscillating weight of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 988 movement is made from an alloy of platinum and iridium, with carbon-fibre arms. The weight is mounted on low-friction, ceramic ball bearings.
• The 44 mm diameter black ceramic case is fabricated from a blend of 95 per cent zirconium and five per cent yttrium oxides heated at 2000-bar pressure to a temperature of over 2000 degrees, and is twice as hard as steel.
• Accurate to -1/+4 seconds per day, the AMVOX3 Tourbillon GMT is tested for 1000 hours and water resistant to 50 metres.
