Interview - Pedro Lamy & Paul Dalla Lana

Aston Martin | Mar 15, 2013

Portuguese racing driver Pedro Lamy and his Canadian team-mate Paul Dalla Lana, are two of the drivers competing with Aston Martin Racing at the 12 Hours of Sebring this weekend (16 March 2013). Together, with American driver Billy Johnson, they will drive the #007 Vantage GTE.

So, how are they feeling ahead of the race?

Pedro, you’ve driven with Aston Martin many times in the past, but never in the Vantage GTE. How did you find it the first time you drove it?

PL: Road Atlanta was the first time I’ve driven the Vantage GTE but I got the feel of it very quickly. It felt good; it is a very nice car to drive. The #007 car is built to the 2012 specification, which we know can win races. This is better for us than driving a new car that needs a lot of testing work.

Paul, this is the first time you’ve driven in the ALMS GT class? How are you feeling ahead of the 12 Hours of Sebring?

PDL: Sebring should be quite an experience. It’s an incredibly tough race with intense competition throughout the field. It will be baptism by fire for me having never raced in the ALMS GT class or at this track before!

It’s a race that has been on high on my list of great races to do and what a perfect way to jump in with Aston Martin Racing.

What are your expectations for the 12 Hours of Sebring?

PL: I suppose this race is more of a test session for me, Paul (Dalla Lana) and Billy (Johnson). However, saying that, we are here to get the best result we can. It’s a long race and if we don’t make any mistakes, we should do really well.
