BALL BEARING TURBOCHARGERS

Inspired from a breathtakingly bespoke engine build. With less friction in the turbo, ball bearing turbochargers unlock 10,000rpm of extra propulsion. Boosting the total all the way up to a ceiling-shattering 160,000. Every bite of specially spun steel breathes more compressed air – faster, and more efficiently – into, and out of, the engine. Kindling greater explosiveness from each individual cylinder. To whip the engine until it gallops at the 707 horsepower that gives this new thoroughbred of the category its name.

WET CLUTCH TRANSMISSION

Multi-plated, oil-cooled, designed for racing, and taking the chequered flag for the use of such technology in this category. Welcome to the first wet plate clutch in any luxury SUV. A transition in transmission, firing 30% faster gear changes and handling more torque than a typical torque converter. Arming your responses with the feel and agility of a sports car. Enabling needle-eyed precision at the twitch of an ankle. And allowing fast-as-lighting, off-the-line speed with Launch Control. By giving you the power to feed 100% torque through the powertrain. In an instant. In any instance.

CARBON FIBRE PROPSHAFT

A feat of engineering, woven in super-lightweight carbon fibre. Threaded with technology more usually found on the racetrack – and not found anywhere else in any other car in this category. DBX707’s propshaft is woven to withstand 900Nm of head-spinning torque. Enabling 0-100kmph in 3.3s. Fused from formidable intricacy, sports car science and otherworldly strength, the shaft is sculpted as a single piece. Which removes the need for a central bearing. And, with it, the vibrations that would conduct through it, roll through the floor of the cabin, and corrupt the feeling of calm in the cockpit.
