DBR1

Introduction

To commemorate our Centenary year, we are delighted to display one of the most legendary cars ever created - the Aston Martin DBR1/1. Celebrated around the world, this is the car which won the gruelling 1000km of Nurburgring in 1959 piloted by Stirling Moss and Jack Brabham.

DBR1/1 joined the Aston Martin Works team in 1956 and during 1957 was fitted with the newly developed RB6/300 engine which gave a capacity of 2,922cc and maxmium power of 252bhp from the Aston Martin six-cylnder engine in a car with a dry weight of just 801kg.

From 1957 to 1959 tge four works team DBR1s started 16 races and achieved 8 victories, finally securing the Worlds Sportscar Championship in 1959.

DB9 Coupe

Introduction

The arrival of the new generation AM11 V12 engine delivers meaningful performance and CO2 benefits when compared to the outgoing engine. The state-of-the-art all-alloy, quad overhead cam, 48-valve, 6.0-litre V12 takes ‘Gen4’ VH architecture hardware technology developed for the new Vanquish and delivers more power for even more spirited performance.

Jaeger LeCoultre

Introduction

Jaeger-LeCoultre has a history of timepiece engineering stretching back more than 175 years. It was in 1833, in the little village of Le Sentier in the Swiss Jura mountains, that the chronicle of Jaeger-LeCoultre began. The Manufacture has an impressive range of world firsts, superlatives and legendary models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon I and the Atmos. Another is the crown winding system which eliminates the need for a winding key and which was invented more than 150 years ago by Antoine LeCoultre himself.

The partnership between Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre began in 2004 with the launch of the Aston Martin Jaeger-LeCoultre gentleman’s watch - the AMVOX1. The exclusive timepiece housed precision engineering in a design inspired by the past which revived a link between the two companies that goes back more than 70 years. The dashboard of the giant killing 1.5-litre Aston Martin LM from the 1930s – a regular class winner in international motorsport including Le Mans – was dominated by Jaeger instruments.

Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre also collaborated closely on the AMV0X2 Chronograph and Rapide Concept in 2006, as well as the AMV0X2 Transponder in 2007. Our latest joint dedication to progress is the Aston Martin Vanquish watch, the AMVOX7, which was launched in November 2012.
