Aston Martin is embracing a new, driving ambition: to be a world-leading sustainable ultra-luxury automotive business. This ambition is the central objective of our new Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, Racing. Green.

Our ESG strategy embeds principles and goals that will continue to power our progress. It makes sustainability more than one part of what we do; it makes sustainability part of everything we do.

ARRIVAL OF ASTON MARTIN DBEE001 AND DBEE002

In celebration of World Bee Day, 20 May 2022, and as part of Aston Martin’s Racing. Green. sustainability strategy, Aston Martin is delighted to announce the arrival of its new sustainable bee hives.

Emulating the company’s legendary DB branded luxury cars, the DBEE001 and DBEE002 hives have been installed at our global headquarters in Gaydon, enhancing local biodiversity.

Michael Straughan, Chief Operations Officer said: "Our facility in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside covers a variety of habitats, including species-rich grassland, hedgerows and mature trees – the perfect location for our new sustainable ultra-luxury bee hives.

Bees play a key role in the ecosystem, but unfortunately their populations are in decline, so it’s vital that we protect and boost biodiversity.

"I’m delighted that we are celebrating World Bee Day with the installation of two bee hives, helping to conserve the UK’s bee population and further improve the environment around us.“

Our resident bee keeper, Alan Rodricks, Electrified Powertrain Testing & Validation Expert, is part of the Warwick & Leamington Bee Keepers Association, which is the local chapter of the British Bee Keepers Association – the national organisation dedicated to the preservation of domesticated “British” Honey Bee populations.

OUR DRIVING AMBITION

Tackling Climate Change

We are transforming our products and the way they are manufactured to help tackle climate change. In 2024 Aston Martin will launch Valhalla, our first Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), followed by our first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) targeted for launch in 2025 and a fully electrified Sport/GT and SUV portfolio by 2030. We are aiming to achieve net-zero emissions within our manufacturing facilities by 2030, and across our supply chain by 2039.

Creating a better environment

We’re targeting the elimination of plastic packaging waste by 2025, the reduction of water consumption by 15% by the same year, and maximisation of our use of sustainable materials. We will also enhance biodiversity across our sites, which are home to a host of species including birds such as the Grasshopper Warbler.

Investing in People and Opportunity

We're aiming for world-class safety performance, delivering industry-leading apprenticeships and training, and building a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Within the next 5 years we want one quarter of our leadership positions to be occupied by women. We will continue to support communities and inspire young people to pursue careers in manufacturing.

Exporting Success

Aston Martin is an iconic British brand with a global reputation for products that deliver the ultimate in performance and luxury. Exporting to 56 countries, we’re proud to showcase the very best of British advanced engineering and design worldwide, and remain committed to working with government to promote the UK’s wider exporting success.

Delivering the Highest Standards

We are committed to delivering the highest standards, ensuring compliance and embracing best practice. We have established a new Board Sustainability Committee to oversee delivery of our ESG strategy and intensified the work of our ESG working groups, focussing leading expertise from across Aston Martin to achieve our goals.
