Classically configured, more than three-quarters of the car’s mass is elegantly balanced between the two axles, with a 49:51 front-to-rear weight distribution. Anchored with the front-mid engine. Non-isolated steering column

This new tactile awareness is further amplified by targeted bracing, undertrays, and anti-roll technology. The aluminum Roll-Over and Protection System (ROPS) has been carefully optimized to minimize weight yet maximize strength. The structure is formed using a process called “Castrusion”—named for the way it combines optimal elements from both casting and extrusion to create a strong, light, and simple-to-package system. Aston Martin’s bespoke all-aluminum 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine sees the largest single surge in performance in the 75-year bloodline of Vantage. Power and torque rise by an unprecedented 30% and 15% respectively, compared to our previous model. A total of 670 HP and a staggering 590 lb-ft of torque running through an eight-speed paddle-shift torque-converter transmission to an electronically controlled limited slip differential—all powered through the rear wheels.
A thrilling sense of performance
Modified cam profiles, optimized compression ratios and enlarged twin turbochargers send the engine’s full repertoire of thrill charging through the Roadster’s veins throughout the entire rev range. From standstill to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, and onward to a top speed of 202 mph, Vantage Roadster combines explosive performance and state-of-the-art technology within the classic front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. With the hood down, the inimitable thunder of the V8 emanates beautifully from under the Roadster’s dramatically sloping hood.

Vantage Roadster features precision-engineered steel brakes for superlative stopping power as standard. Or drivers can specify Carbon Ceramic Brakes with vast discs—measuring 16 in. at the front end and 14 in. at the rear—clamped by six piston monoblock calipers. These reduce unsprung mass by 60 lb to minimize weight, maximize grip, and rein in all 202 mph and 590 lb-ft of unadulterated thrill. Allowing Vantage Roadster to shed speed even more rapidly than it gains—and to do so repeatedly. Increasing braking efficiency and reducing brake fade at temperatures up to 1,472 degrees Fahrenheit courtesy of grooved, drilled faces providing superior heat rejection. The joy of alloys
The Vantage Roadster features 21″ hand-forged alloy wheels, with a structure designed using simulation tools to remove every gram of excess mass without compromising strength or aesthetics. There are four 21″ wheel styles, available in a range of finishes, behind which can be seen one of seven different color choices of brake calipers.
Bespoke treads
A proprietary blend of Michelin Sport S 5 tires has been crafted specially for the Vantage Roadster bloodline. 14 in. x 16 in. Honed by Aston Martin and molded by Michelin. Featuring a bespoke compound to maximize high-grip levels in any weather and fitted with noise-cancelling foam to lesson road noise. Super-sharp responses, with the improved driver feel and progressive breakaway characteristics expected from a car born of authentic motorsport pedigree.

Six dimensions of stability
The new Stability Control System underwrites the sense of driving composure through a state-of-the-art 6D Inertial Measurement Unit. This “electronic architecture” harnesses six axis sensors—Surge, Heave, Sway, Roll, Pitch, and Yaw—to create a superbly detailed overview of precisely how the car is behaving. Then allows the ESP system to adopt optimal settings both for road conditions and driving style. Allowing perfectly gauged ESP intervention with optimized performance. And maximized emotion.
Driver-centered slip and traction control
Working in harmony with the Electronic Stability Control system, Vantage Roadster is graced with the latest evolution of Electronic Slip Control (ESC) and Adjustable Traction Control (ATC) systems. For the driver, it is an innate sense of balance behind the wheel. Torque is constantly monitored and managed to optimize wheel slip by actively predicting the exact level of grip available. Responding in the moment to even the most minute instabilities. The ATC can be set manually on one of nine different levels, so you can precisely control the amount of traction you want from the system or even turn it off completely. Allowing you to appreciate the intricacies and delights of true sports car driver engagement.
Launch control
Vantage Roadster’s new Launch Control System harmonizes the engine, transmission, and stability control to provide as much torque as conditions allow. A combination of E-Differential, ESP slip control, and engine torque management ensure a vice-like hold on the asphalt, and thanks to the innovative Advanced Traction Control system, the driver can provide even more precise control over the amount of slip they desire through launch. The Roadster continues Aston Martin’s tradition of open-top driving that dates back 75 years to the launch of the Vantage drophead coupe in 1950. The Z-fold roof system swiftly transforms the new Vantage model into the top-down drivers’ dream. Lightweight and compact, the mechanism instantly folds to a mere 8-in. stack height, giving a beautifully smooth, sleek rear profile, while maximizing luggage capacity.
The convertible has an ingenious lightweight roof mechanism and supporting structural enhancements. The substantial weight saving over a traditional K-fold roof is further facilitated by removing a tonneau cover. The Z-fold roof canopy is acoustically enhanced and incorporates eight different layers of insulation materials for the height of cabin comfort. And the essence of interior calm.
The Z-fold roof
The Roadster offers the fastest-operating fully automatic roof on the market, taking just 6.8 seconds to open or close completely. World-class performance as silent as it is seamless. The Z-fold is operational up to a speed of 31 mph, allowing you to raise the roof at the touch of a button. A shortcut to open-air calm, the refined mechanism can also be operated via the remote key within a 7-foot radius of the car.

Form with function
The broad track width delivers a lasting and intimidating first impression. The wide aperture of the signature Aston Martin grille embodies Aston Martin’s philosophy of combining beauty with function. The vaned contoured grille has a 38% increase in surface area compared to its predecessor, dramatically improving airflow to the powerful engine by offering a 29% increase in mass airflow for additional cooling. Scalpel-sharp vents reduce drag and command enhanced cooling airflow onto the front wheel arches. A final touch comes in the form of a new optimized front splitter. Tuned to enhance airflow into larger front apertures without compromising aero balance and downforce to offer the Roadster enhanced stability at high speeds.

Viewed with the top down, the Roadster is a truly stunning masterpiece of Aston Martin design. All of the visceral impact and beauty of the Vantage Coupe has been seamlessly retained for its convertible stablemate. The Z-fold roof is meticulously engineered to fold down seamlessly to a sleek 8-in. stack height, leaving no impact on the aesthetic of its side profile. The dramatically angled windshield joins with the car’s high waistline to create a proportionally perfect thoroughbred sports car profile. The flank offers new side sills, frameless door mirrors, and presenting door handles, and is finished with the return of the world-renowned Aston Martin side strake. A touch of dynamism that guides the admiring eye along the powerline, even while standing at ease. Signed and sealed with the jeweled finish of the Aston Martin word mark.
A wider body
This beautiful convertible multiplies and intensifies its road presence, with 1 in. more width, for added stability. Sharp. Rigid. Laterally stiffened and braced with 29% more strength under the pressure of a corner. The Vantage Coupe and Roadster were developed simultaneously, enabling the convertible model to retain the outrageous dynamic capabilities and agile sporty character of Vantage with no compromise on the removal of the hard roof.
A FORCEFUL STANCE
Finished with a broad rear end and widened stance, Roadster is visibly more formidable from nose to tail. The roof stows seamlessly behind the seats without need for a bulky, heavy tonneau cover while the trunk lid deck slopes gently downward to meet the dramatic upkick of a distinctive rear spoiler. To reduce lift, wheel-arch vents bleed off air and the rear diffuser keeps the car grounded by managing and optimizing airflow to create low pressure under the car. Signing off emphatically with quad-exhaust tailpipes that are as memorable for their visual power as for their stainless-steel roar. A last impression as dramatic as its first.
