Andy Palmer and Marek Reichman win leading industry awards
- Andy Palmer awarded President’s Trophy by the Guild of Motoring Writers
- President and Group CEO wins the Automotive News All Stars Award for Luxury Automaker
- Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer, wins Automotive News All Stars Award for Design
29 November 2018, Gaydon: It has been a week of awards and accolades at Aston Martin, with Aston Martin Lagonda President and Group CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, scooping up three awards.
This evening, Palmer was presented with the President’s Trophy from the Guild of Motoring Writers at the RAC Club in London. Earlier this week he also won the Automotive News All Stars Award in the Luxury Automaker category. Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer, Aston Martin, was selected for the Automotive News All Stars Award in the Design category.
Since joining Aston Martin Lagonda in 2005, Reichman has transformed the visual language of Aston Martin and introduced greater differentiation into the range. All part of the ‘Second Century Plan’ that Palmer unveiled when he joined in 2014. The strategy has meant a complete refresh of the existing product range – DB11, Vantage and, more recently, the DBS Superleggera. These will shortly be joined by four additional models, the company’s first SUV, DBX, a mid-engined sportscar and two upcoming emission-free Lagonda models.
Speaking about the awards, Palmer said: “Our priority as a company has been to establish “beyond lean” management systems that strengthens our operational performance in every facet of our business. In 2018, Aston Martin Lagonda became the only truly British car company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. Another step in our mission ‘to be the great British car company that creates the most beautiful automotive art in the world’. It is a great privilege for both Marek and myself to be recognised on an international level by these awards. As ever, I dedicate them to our workforce that has shown passion and commitment towards our historic marque.”
