V8 VANTAGE LE MANS
Announced in 1999 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Aston Martin’s victory at Le Mans, the Vantage Le Mans featured a bigger front air dam, blanked-off grille and wing vents in the manner of the DBR1. Reversing and high-intensity lights were built into a revised rear spoiler, while sporting touches included perforated brake and clutch pedals, an aluminium gear lever knob and brushed metal panels instead of the traditional wood veneers. The Le Mans was available with either the standard 550 bhp Vantage engine or a special 600 bhp ‘Works Prepared’ unit. Production was limited to 40 units, one for each year since the marque’s success in the 24-Hour race.
