Valhalla’s active aerodynamics are extraordinary, and it was clear from early testing that a system designed initially for Race mode had wider application. So, the active aero system is now deployed in Sport and Sport+ mode, bringing the sensational Valhalla experience to real, unscripted driving as well as on the track.
The same philosophy drove dozens of smaller calibrations. The throttle pedal return spring was re-tuned because Alonso identified that fractionally firmer resistance made the car feel more alive at part-throttle. Not just faster. But more responsive. The eight-speed DCT's software was reworked until each upshift carried a percussive mechanical thump — the visceral punctuation that reminds you there are actual gears in there, not algorithms pretending. Speed with theatre.
Fernando discovered that the automated DRS felt more stable if the rear wing re-engaged milliseconds before the front wing when lifting off the throttle. A timing tweak too small to see. A confidence gain you feel every time you brake later than you thought possible and the car simply settles beneath you. At those moments, the technology disappears, yet the feeling remains.
